History

The age of dreams contains the First Dragon War, fought by the elves under the leadership of Lord Silvanos aginst the evil dragons. The elves prevailed using magical stones that were lost after the war.
After the war, the rest of the races began to flourish (minotaurs, dwarves, and the other old races). However, the dwarves disturb the magical stones and unleash the evil dragons again. This begins the Second Dragon War, which is ended by the great power of several mages, however this power scars the lands. These mages learn the law of magic and form the Wizards of High Sorcery and the Towers of High Sorcery.
For a long while the land sees peace, until the Kingpriest begins rulership and declares itself the moral center of the world. The lands of the old world begin to lose sight of the balance between good and evil, and tries to eradicate evil in the world. Mages are persecuted by the Kingpriest, and they are forced to retreat to their towers fortresses, especially Tower of Wayerth, all the while their allied good dragons are forced to serve the Kingpriest. Those who refused are outlawed and hunted down.
Soon the kingpriest demands from the gods the power they gave to Silvanos Dragonbane, the hero of old, that vanquished the dragons and taught magic to the elves, and when they turn a deaf ear to his pleas, he forces the land to worship him. The gods grow angry and they open the maws of the fiery mountains in the Ansalon ring, and even known as the Cataclysm.
This breaks open the prisons of evil dragons, especially Demonmaw Ixori, an ancient Time Dragon, old as the time itself. Through his power, and the other evil dragons that escaped from Carceri and Pandemonium, he lays waste to the world.
The wizards of Wayerth fight Ixori but due to the Kingpriest’s actions, they are no longer as powerful as they were.
As more and more towers fall to Ixori and his unconventional time war tactics, Myuni, the lead Archmage of Wayerth tower devises a ritual to limit the Time War into a period of 1000 years, and sanctions the use of necromancy for certain Towers at the moment of their fall, to assure the continued presence of well trained fighters at the moment of emergence.
Tactic is as follows:
- when a tower falls, the ruling archmage sacrifices his power into the Time Shard, and a Time Stasis bubble activates for 150 years.
- This effect is not very stable, and takes a great toll on those still in the tower, draining their life force and power to fuel the effect. Many such towers emerged the stasis with only a handful of warriors still sane enough to carry out the Time War.
